CHARICE PEMPENGCO Brought the Crowd Wild at the Philippine Independence Day Parade in NYC

Tired of hearing good news about Charice? Don’t be.

Here’s more:

• After wowing ‘em with her guestings on Ellen, Paul O’Grady, Oprah and in two shows mounted by David Foster first at the MGM Grand at Foxwood (Connecticut) and then in Las Vegas, Charice did it again last Sunday, June 1, during the Philippine Independence Day parade in New York City.

She came home briefly for the press launch of her eponymous debut album (by Star Records) Thursday last week and flew right back to the US with her mom Raquel.

During the two-hour parade, Charice rode on a float together with Dr. Vicki Belo and her beloved Hayden Kho, Randy Santiago, Fe delos Reyes and immigration lawyer Michael Gurfinkel (who comes to the rescue of Charice and her mom Raquel with their visa problems).

“Charice rendered five songs before a huge crowd that went wild before, during and after her every performance,” reported Funfare’s Big Apple correspondent Edmund Silvestre (of The Filipino Reporter). “And then, she was mobbed. Hindi matapus-tapos ang picture-taking.”

Babes De Gula-Harington said, “Charice is petite and looks much better in person. Magandang bata at fresh na fresh. Mukhang enjoy siya sa kaka-wave sa crowd habang nasa float.”

New York concert producer Baby Lantin said, “Iba ang power ng voice ni Charice, nangingibabaw talaga at malinis even if it was outdoor at kahit di ganoon kaganda ang sound system.”

Incidentally, Charice is set for her album mall tour: June 15 at SM Clark, June 21 at SM Marilao, June 22 at SM Fairview, and June 28 at SM Bacoor. On June 14, she will perform with Air Supply at the Araneta Coliseum.

June 3 - 5 TV Ratings: PBB Took Over the 5th Slot; MY GIRL Rating Mala-Spaghetting Pababa ng Pababa

The last few days of ABS-CBN's reality show Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Teen Edition Plus stirred the primetime race a little bit. Starting last Monday, the reality show overtook My Girl as the leading Kapamilya show. The two-week old My Girl, on the other hand, seems to have lost its steam immediately as its ratings dropped considerably.

PBB Teen Edition Plus placed fifth overall Tuesday (June 3) with 26.6 percent and Thursday (June 5) with 24.8 percent. On Wednesday, June 4, it managed to grab the fourth spot from perennial fourth placer 24 Oras. PBB got 28.1 percent while 24 Oras received 28 percent.

Tomorrow night, June 7, it will finally be revealed who among Beauty, Ejay, Nicole, and Robi would be the Big Winner in a live presentation at the Araneta Coliseum.

Meanwhile, after an impressive debut, My Girl dropped to No. 6 last Tuesday (23.6 percent), No. 8 Wednesday (23.2 percent), and No. 7 Thursday (20.9 percent—its lowest rating so far).
Lobo, on the other hand, improved its status as it consistently held on to the No. 6 position.
Still undisputed on the 1st to 4th slots are GMA-7's Dyesebel, Joaquin Burdado, Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita and 24-Oras.
