Sorry I am not going to be help, but I would be interested in knowing when you find, why that was so.. I am one of the unlucky few whu missed the July 2007 filing bonanza by 1 day, based on when my labor was filed.. so if there is an alternate way to assign PD.. My wife is currently on h4. She has applied for H4 to F1 trasfer i539 application with university A in May 2008. She is currently enrolled in University A on H4 as her application is pending. Now she got admission from a better unversity (starting Spring - Jan 2009) and she wants to join this university. What is the process to transfer her university given her i539 application is still pending (and probably remain pending till early 2009).

during our meeting with the lobbyists in Washington D.C. one thing stood clear. We have to get our employers in the big picture and we need to meet the lawmakers. For this we are going to start this effort �Meet the lawmakers�. The material and corresponding will eventually come from the Lobbying firm. But in the mean time we need to build the team. Bush did not mention a single word about legal immigration. He was referring to foreign (limit/read that as Mexican) workers and putting in place programs to stem the flow of additional undocumented ones. He spoke just over a minute and there was not a bit to be gleeful about for legal immigrants.

As a side note, seems like the writers have sort of given up already on his last year of his presidency as the entire speech was rather mundane. In a troubled time for the entire country with the economy down, house market bust, recession looming, he chose to highlight the past and glorify to garner legacy.
Will it be a year of inaction? I hope not, lets us do our bit by supporting efforts of IV.

My wife did her MBA and used her OPT before marriage. After a gap of OPT period she again went to school and got a MS degree. During her OPT, she did not work at all. Now she is unable to get second OPT for her recent MS degree.
Is there a way out to get second OPT? Can this new law (29 months OPT) if passed, be used to apply for second OPT.
What should be best approach? Please advice.

A student can get an OPT once for every level of education. Since your wife already had an OPT at the "master's" level (it does not matter whether she could earn money during that period or not), she can only get another if she goes for a Ph.D. After completing the Ph.D., she will get one more OPT.

I only know information about I-485 filing but do not know what to expect after it is filed?
Can someone tell me what to expect after things are in place? Like expecting Receipt date, fingerprinting - how many of them, what to look for and what to watch out for etc. A consolidated discussion may help many who are unaware of the system.
Who will get such information, lawyer or the applicant?
In normal circumstances (without the floodgates open) you would get a receipt within 2-3 weeks after the application is submitted. Fingerprinting happens soon after (still within a month). Then you get an EAD first, then the AP. In all this your lawyer will be informed as well as you. Sometimes your lawyer gets to hear first b4 you.

Filed for h1---april 2009
H1 approved---aug 2009
Actually i had to start a project dated 12-oct'09 but unfortunately the project got cancelled.From then i have been looking for project but no luck.Currently i am in a dilemma regarding my status and course of action.I am thinking to change my status to H4 again by filing i-539.
The main problem is my employer did not run any payroll for me since oct-st(official kick off date afetr h1 COS approval) i did not have any project and when i ask him about that he says he can state that i will officially join the company in Jan 2010 and he will start running the payroll from jan 2010(irrespective of me getting a project and he says i have to pay half of my taxes from my pocket that the employer would be entitled to pay and he will pay the rest and cut it from my payroll once i get a project).I am totally in a state of confusion and do not want to take any risk anymore regarding my status and from the employer(he is taking advantage of my situation).
My questions are
1. How safe is it to apply COS at this point
2. If in case he starts running my payroll from Jan and still i dont land in a project even after couple of months can i go head and change my status to h4 in march with the 2 paystubs (jan and feb which he is promising to run)
3.in worst case if the payroll is not run by him what would be the best course of action

Medical results are valid till 1 years from the date they are done. Also if you got it done from a uscis approved doctor u r all set.
Lot of ppl get vaccination and everything done before hand.

Sorry. I explained in the comments that go with the photo and should have included that here. This is a drinking bowl for dairy cattle manufactured by the Starline company, circa 1960. I found this in an old milking barn. The cow pushes her nose against the star-shaped lever and fresh water from the nozzle fills the bowl.
