UAAP and Watsons Hold Hands to Promote Health, Scholarships

Manila, Philippines –The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and Watsons Personal Care Stores on Monday formalized their partnership for the 74th season of the UAAP.

Watsons will be selling limited edition hand sanitizers in 4 different scents that feature the UAAP teams for the duration of the basketball season.

Sanitizers for the Adamson Falcons and Blue Eagles of the Ateneo de Manila University will feature the ocean fresh scent, while those for the Fighting Maroons (University of the Philippines) and Red Warriors (University of the East) will feature the candied apples scent.

The sanitizers for the Green Archers (De La Salle University) and Raging Tamaraws (Far Eastern University), meanwhile, will be done in a vanilla and lime scent. The NU Bulldogs and Growling Tigers (University of Sto. Tomas) will be featured in a peach nectar scented sanitizer.

Geraldine Baula, Watsons brand manager, said the UAAP hand sanitizers will be sold in Watsons stores in Luzon starting the first week of August.

"We are selling these hand sanitizers for P60 each, with a center percentage of the proceeds going to the UAAP to finance their scholarships," Baula said.

The hand sanitizers also aim to promote a healthy habit among the players and fans.

"Everything starts with clean hands," said Arnie Hernandez of ABS-CBN Licensing.

Baula said that 10% of the sales from the hand sanitizers will be going to the UAAP.

Watsons is also planning to release special edition hand sanitizers for the UAAP Final 4 teams.
