She has built a billion dollar fashion empire, but Jessica Simpson doesn't always get it quite right when it comes to her own sartorial choices.

The 31-year-old arrived or a business meeting in Beverly Hills last week wearing a very clingy beige dress.

The fitted frock pulled around her form, doing little to compliment her shapely figure.


Perhaps feeling a self-concious, she wore a long scarf around her neck and also hid behind a large black Yves Saint Laurent handbag.

Jessica paired the look with towering beige platform pumps, gold costume jewellery and some oversized sunglasses.

The singer wore minimal make for the occasion, with just a dab of gloss on her lips, and also carried a bottle of fizzy mineral water.

Earlier this year, the star hired celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson to help whip her into shape ahead of her wedding day.

She is expected to wed former NFL player Eric Johnson in the coming months, however she is keeping the details under wraps.

Of course, her former husband Nick Lachey made it down the aisle before her - marrying his girlfriend of four years, Vanessa Minnillo, in an intimate island wedding on Necker Island on Friday.

As well as her bride-to-be duties and business empire, Jessica has another project in the works.

She will join the new NBC reality TV series Fashion Star as a celebrity mentor.

With a hugely successful clothing and accessories line under her belt, she will help aspiring designers as they compete for a multi-million dollar contract to launch their own brand.

It will be hosted by supermodel and lingerie brand owner, Elle Macpherson.

They may be sisters, but Jessica and Ashlee Simpson clearly have very different senses of style.

And it was certainly apparent earlier today, as the siblings arrived for a family photo shoot showing off a contrasting look.

Wearing her long blonde hair loosely around her shoulders, Jessica, 30, arrived at a house in Beverly Hills wearing a baggy green sweater over ultra short denim shorts.


Ashlee, meanwhile, went for more of an eclectic look, wearing her cropped blonde hair under a grey hat and sporting chunky boots and a knee length black skirt.

She arrived holding hands with her two-year-old son Bronx, who looked cute in a grey T-shirt and grey trousers

The former star of Melrose Place was without her estranged husband Pete Wentz, with whom she filed for divorce back in February.

But it seems Jessica Simpson is also exploring other ways to shed the pounds before she marries fiancé Eric Johnson.

The 30-year-old singer was seen enjoying a tandem bike ride with Johnson and a group of friends as they pedalled their way along the Venice boardwalk.


Enjoying the sunshine: Both Jessica and Eric seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their trip out


Jessica's weight has sparked a lot of debate over the years. She stunned fans when she stepped out at the MTV Movie Awards in 2005 looked thinner than ever after losing weight for her role as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard.

But Jessica failed to maintain the 36-24-36 figure she worked so hard to achieve, and started steadily piling weight back on.

Now, however, Jessica is determined to be in the best shape ever for her nuptials, and is trying to 'hopefully lose some weight' ahead of her big day.

Asked if she was going to be embarking on a proper diet and exercise regime before the wedding, Jessica replied: 'No exercise is fun! I am going to dance around my bedroom and hopefully lose some weight - and lift some weights and do what I can!'
