While auditions for the ninth season of "American Idol" are currently underway. And with the scheduled return of the show on air in January 2010, what happened now to Paula Abdul?
Now we told, Paula Abdul, a judge who has been with the show since year one, will not be coming back.
Abdul and her manager were demanding more money, and Idol producers felt she was not worth what she was asking. The two were quite vocal about their frustrating negotiations with the big wigs.
Paula Goodspeed, Paula Abdul's number one fan and a former American Idol wannabe who auditioned for the show in 2005 was found dead outside of Abdul’s house on the night of November 11.
The victim was found dead in a car, yards from Paula’s L.A. home. Cause of death may have been a drug overdose according to Ventura County Sheriff.
Goodspeed auditioned for season five of American Idol and proudly showcased her being a Paula Abdul fan. She sang Proud Mary, but the judges weren’t proud of her enough to send her to Hollywood, which might have caused Goodspeed to feel down - leading to this tragic conclusion.
Goodspeed wrote on her Myspace about the experience.
“It’s very hard reading such awful things being written about yourself…or hearing things being said…not like a lot of people would understand what it’s like having so many haters, just because I made the mistake of trying out for a singing competition before I was ~even~ ready vocally, emotionally and physically. I have to believe there is something good about me…”
