Stars raising hundreds and thousands for Children In Need: Gail Porter and Zoe Salmon dress up for charity

By GEORGINA LITTLEJOHN

The eyes have it: Gail Porter (left) and Tana Ramsay show off their hundreds and thousands make-up as they prepare for this year's BBC Children In Need appeal

Who'd have thought that hundreds and thousands could be so much fun?

They normally adorn the top of ice cream cones or cupcakes but Tana Ramsay and Gail Porter found a novel way of using the decorations as make-up - all in the name of charity.

Author Tana, 36, and presenter Gail, 39, joined forces to promote this year's Children In Need charity appeal and used this year's Get Baking theme to have some fun and raise awareness of the BBC appeal at the same time.

Former glamour model Gail stuck the cake decoration across her eyes, giving a dramatic frame to her big green peepers, and on to her fingernails.

She also modelled one of this year's Pudsey Bear T-shirts, which are part of an exclusive range for Asda who are selling the designs for this year's appeal.

Gail said: 'Doing this photoshoot has been so much fun. Who knew that hundreds and thousands could be made to look so good!

Charity friends: Zoe Salmon models the Waving Pudsey T-shirt as she poses with Pudsey and his new friend Blush

'Through buying a Pudsey T-shirt from Asda, you will be helping children and young people across the UK who may have experienced mental, physical or sensory disabilities; behavioural or psychological disorders; are living in poverty or situations of deprivation; or suffering through distress, abuse or neglect.'

Tana, wife of celebrity TV chef Gordon, 43,also decorated her eyes with the sprinkles, and gave her look a little something extra as she applied a temporary Pudsey Bear tattoo to her arm.

She said: 'I wouldn’t be where I was today if it weren’t for the constant support, love and care from my family. I can’t imagine the pain of a child who hasn’t been as lucky with their parents, which is why I’m supporting this year’s BBC Children in Need Appeal.’

Bear necessities: Tana and Gail model model the new Children in Need T-shirts, available exclusively from Asda stores

The two ladies were joined by other celebrities to model and promote this year's official Children In Need T-shirts and merchandise.

Actresses Terri Dwyer and Samia Smith showed off their slender figures in one of the exclusive dresses and t-shirts, with Samia, 28, even adding some chocolate hand prints to her white dress in keeping with the Get Baking theme.

The Coronation Street star said: 'I’ve had an extremely fun day today doing this baking shoot! I’d encourage everyone to get themselves a bake-a-bear cookie cutter and get baking, all in the spirit of raising money for BBC Children in Need.’

Former Hollyoaks star Terri, 37, who modelled the £6 sketchy Pudsey grey T-shirt, added: 'No one should have to suffer poverty and deprivation in this day and age and with the support of the public, BBC Children in Need will be able to take another step towards helping those who are suffering.

'I think everyone should do something a little different this year to support the cause! The wackier, the better!'

Northern Irish TV presenter Zoe Salmon, 30, also took part in the shoot, and modelled the £6 red Waving Pudsey T-shirt.

As she posed with Pudsey and his new friend Blush, she said: ‘Wear your Pudsey T-shirt with pride! T-shirts are available for the whole family – even the little ones - so you can all unite and show your support for this worthy cause.’

And it wasn't just the girls getting involved in the cause, as they were joined by theatre actor Lee Mead, 29.

The West End star, who is married to presenter Denise Van Outen, posed in two £6 T-shirts and embraced the Get Baking theme as he posed in front of a cloud of flour.

He said: 'I’ll never look at flour the same way again – but it’s all been worth it. An hour of getting a bit messy and sticky is a small price to pay to know that we’re helping make children’s lives better.’

This year's BBC Children In Need appeal takes place on November 19 and the official merchandise is on sale at Asda stores across the UK.

Kim Kardashian breaks her toe... perhaps now she'll take a day off from those high heels

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Before the accident: Kim Kardashian and sister Kourtney leaving their New York hotel today; on their return Kim tripped and broke her toe

When it comes to shoes, Kim Kardashian likes nothing less than a skyscraper heel.
But the reality star may have to stock up on flat shoes after breaking her toe.

Kim became a casualty of her transatlantic lifestyle when she tripped over a suitcase in her New York hotel room.

Kim tweeted: 'I knew my clumsiness would catch up with me at some point!'

'I knew my clumsiness would catch up with me at some point!' the 30-year-old tweeted. 'I tripped on a suit case on the floor and broke my toe :-('
Kim and sister Kourtney were photographed in New York on Monday, shortly before Kim's accident.

True to form Kim was wearing an impressive pair of leopard print stiletto platform ankle boots, teamed with a pencil skirt and jacket. Her sister chose an oversized animal print coat, with a warm fur hat.

Time for a break from those: Kim will have to buy some flats after breaking her toe tripping over her suitcase

The sisters are in the city filming their new reality show, Kourtney And Kim Take New York. They are opening a new Dash clothing store, adding to the family business.

And Kourtney is even considering making the move permanent, with boyfriend Scott Disick and their ten-month-old son Mason.

She and Scott have had well-documented problems in their relationship, but see the move to New York as being a chance for a fresh start.

Kourtney blogged about their use of therapy yesterday, writing: 'It always boggles my mind the way some people react to people going to therapy. To us, it’s one of the best things we can do to keep a healthy and strong relationship. I’m all about it.'

Moving to New York: Kourtney tweeted that she and boyfriend Scott Disick undergo couple therapy; the couple are parents to Mason, ten months

Meanwhile Kim chose to join Kourtney after breaking up with her last boyfriend, NFL player Miles Austin.

Her mother Kris Jenner has spoken out about her daughter's love life, saying that Kim is not looking for a celebrity for her next boyfriend.

'Any of you out there ace a cute son you want to set her up with, give me a tingle,' she said on Rachael Ray's U.S. TV talk show.

Of her daughter, she added: 'She's 30-tears old and having the time of her life. I'm so proud of Kim - she's independent and successful and so happy inside. Such a dear girl.'

Maybe Kim can borrow those? Khloe Kardashian arrived in New York on Monday, ready to help her sisters launch the Dash store

She also denied rumours her daughter was dating John Mayer, insisting: 'John Mayer is just a friend. The other guys they've been mentioning are too!

'She is single - really single, for the first time in her entire life. And she is having so much fun.

'So sorry John Mayer, I love you - but they're just friends.'

Trick or treat! Little princess Suri Cruise visits neighbours after picking out her own Halloween costume

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Pretty princess: Katie Holmes takes Suri Cruise and a friend trick or treating in Beverly Hills yesterday

She already picks out her own wardrobe, so it's no surprise Suri Cruise had the final say over her Halloween costume this year.

The 4-year-old was spotted shopping for a fairy princess outfit in Century City Mall with her mother Katie Holmes over the weekend before the pair headed out for trick or treating in Beverly Hills.

They strolled along the street with a young friend, dressed as Alice in Wonderland, before heading to a party with family and friends.

Just perfect: Earlier Suri picked out her own costume while on a shopping spree with her mother

Suri's father, Tom Cruise, is currently filming Mission Impossible IV in Dubai.
Just this morning he was seen shooting stunt scenes for the upcoming film in which he was hanging from a rope off the side of the Burj Kahlifa building - the tallest free standing structure in the world.

Also out enjoying some spooky fun last night was Britney Spears' sons Sean Preston, 5, and Jayden James, 4, who got dressed up for a stroll round their neighbourhood.

Both boys were dressed as superheroes for the outing with their father Kevin Federline and his girlfriend Victoria Prince in Chatsworth, California.

They had bucketfuls of sweets - and here's hoping K-Fed, who has piled on the pounds since appearing on Celebrity Fit Club, managed to resist the temptation once they got home.

Madonna was unrecognisable in what seemed to be a Laurel and Hardy mask paired with black shorts and tights as she escorted daughter Mercy dressed as Dorothy around the neighbourhood.

Jessica Seinfeld, comedian Jerry Seinfeld's wife, met up with Madonna at one point to say hello while singer's eldest daughter, Lourdes, headed off with a friend for some time .

Sarah Michelle Gellar marked another milestone yesterday, taking her one-year-old daughter Charlotte out for her first Halloween trick or treat.

The 33-year-old actress had also dressed the little girl in a Dorothy costume from the film The Wizard of Oz as the pair walked around the Brentwood neighbourhood close to their home yesterday.

Charlotte wore a baby blue gingham dress with a red sash, sequinned ruby slippers and even carried a basket with a small fluffy dog in it.

Sarah stayed casual in black leggings, a white T-shirt and a black leather jacket which she paired with black motorcycle boots.

Her actor husband Freddie Prinze Jr, who was not present, met in 2007 on the set of their film I Know What You Did Last Summer.

They got married in 2002 and welcomed Charlotte in September 2009.

The actress has taken time off from her successful acting career since giving birth to Charlotte last year in order to be a hands on mother.

Freddie Prinze, 34, has also taken a step back from acting but this time to focus on a change to working behind the camera.

He has recently finished filming Manslaughter, a film on which he was an executive producer, about five college students who, while looking for fun in the Philippines, get involved in a manslaughter cover up.

I'll be there for you: Courteney Cox thanks 'amazing' friend Jennifer Aniston for her support as she insists she's not getting divorced... yet

By ANDREA MAGRATH

Telling: Courteney Cox arrives at an LA hotel today with her wedding ring firmly in place

Courteney Cox has broken her silence over her split with husband David Arquette saying it has taken 'courage' to end their marriage.

The Hollywood star also revealed how her former Friends star Jennifer Aniston is helping her cope with the split.

She said Aniston,40, who went through a very public and painful split with Brad Pitt, had been 'amazing.'

'She's gone through it': Courteney says best friend Jennifer Aniston has been 'amazing' throughout her separation, pictured together here in Cougar Town

Back on? The Cougar Town star's ring was visible

'We just have fun, we laugh, we're inseparable and it's great,' Cox says.
'It's funny, a lot of really close friends are kind of going through this right now or like Jennifer who has gone through it.

'I don't know what's going on in the planets or what, but things are being shaken up and I don't know what's going to happen, but, yeah, Jennifer has been amazing for sure.'

Cox, 46, and Arquette, 39, announced their split two weeks ago after 11 years of marriage.

Arquette later appeared on a radio station and revealed how he cried the first time he had sex with another woman after the split.

He also revealed other intimate details about the failed married.

Trial separation: Courteney Cox has given a candid interview where she says she and David are not divorcing

Cox insisted that she and Arquette, who have a six year old daughter Coco, were not yet getting divorced.

Adding fuel to suggestions of a reconciliation, the actress was spotted today wearing her wedding ring.

Despite him publicly admitting he has slept with another woman, she insists it is only a 'trial separation.'

'I don't know what will happen, but this is not like we're getting divorced,' Cox told TV Week magazine.

'This is a separation and I think that takes a lot of courage. Whatever is supposed to happen will be the best thing for us.'

Good terms: David revealed to US TV hosts Regis and Kelly that the couple would take their daughter trick or treating together over the weekend

She accepted that after 11 years of marriage they no longer wanted the same things.
'Sometimes you just realise 'Wow, we actually have grown apart,' she says.
The couple will be seen together in Scream 4, the latest in the horror film franchise.

They had first met making Scream with Cox playing a TV reporter and Arquette and town sheriff.

Arquette apologised for revealing too much after telling radio shock jock Howard Stern on his radio show last month that the couple had not had sex for four months.

He also revealed that his sexual encounter with waitress Jasmine Waltz made him feel 'manly,' and that he and Courteney had agreed they could see other people as part of their separation.

But the Friends actress has shot down claims of an open marriage, dismissing them as 'stories' by her kooky husband.

Denials: The Cougar Town actress has dismissed claims made by David (pictured with her and Coco in April) that they had an open marriage

'[David's] a kook,' she told the magazine. 'It’s not shocking and Howard Stern he loves him and I’m a fan of Howard Stern.

'I don’t know that I would call him right now, but… David is an entertainer and I’m sure the people who listen to the radio are entertained by his stories.

'I always thought of myself as the greatest wife because I’ll do whatever I want to do and I don’t mean open marriage, that’s not what we had.'

'I am not doing anything. No dating,' she added. 'I hate to go out, so, I don’t know how that would work. I’m a homebody.'

Arquette claimed during his Howard Stern interview that Courteney had an 'emotional affair' with her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt.

David appeared on morning show Live with Regis and Kelly last week to begin what is sure to be a somewhat awkward round of promotion for the couple's new film Scream 4, but says they have maintained a good relationship.

Arquette told the hosts he still has a good relationship with Cox despite their separation and went on to reveal that they had in fact gone for dinner together just the night before.

He also revealed the two are just in different places in their lives, with Cox wanting 'growth' and him 'feeling a little wild.'

He says both parents will take their daughter Coco trick or treating over the weekend: 'Coco is going to be a bumblebee and Courteney is going to be a sunflower,’ he said. ‘I’ll put on a flower suit or something.'

Wear your crystal-encrusted poppy with pride! X-Factor judges lead the way with designer emblems

By RYAN KISIEL

Pretty poppy: From left Frankie Sandford, Una Healy, Mollie King, Rochelle Wiseman and Vanessa White of The Saturdays have been sporting the crystal emblems

It's not a fashion accessory exactly. But if you feel that paper and plastic is a little bit last year, there is plenty of scope to update your poppy before Remembrance Day.

Celebrities including Simon Cowell have already been spotted showing their support for this year’s Poppy Appeal, wearing designer emblems that are studded with crystals.

And those who want to follow suit can spend with a clear conscience, safe in the knowledge that the profits are going to the Royal British Legion.

Cowell had a crocheted emblem on his lapel as he judged The X Factor on Saturday.
The £84.99 flower was made by jewellery designer Kleshna, whose enamel and crystal versions have been worn by the presenters of daytime television show Loose Women and pop band The Saturdays.

But if neither of those is quite your style, the designer has other poppy products including a tie pin and a bracelet that might suit you instead.

The Royal British Legion, which runs the appeal, said: ‘Shows like The X Factor are shown to millions of people and it is bound to raise awareness and encourage people to wear a poppy.’

Glittering for a good cause: Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell show off their crystal poppies to support this year's Poppy Appeal

Referring to the poppies worn by TV personalities, spokesman Robert Lee added: ‘On the internet there’s already been a huge demand for them and we’ve been inundated with calls from people wanting to know where to get them from.

‘As long as the proceeds go to the Poppy Appeal then we are very liberal about what people wear.

‘We own the rights to the poppy image so you can almost be certain that the proceeds of a sale go to us anyway. We had a few of the brooches but they have sold out very quickly because everyone wants them.’

The charity, which raises money by selling poppies through its army of volunteers, has also brought out its own jewellery range.

Brooches are for sale for £17.04 and lapel pins celebrating the 65th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and VE Day are also on offer.

There are also iron-on badges and limited-edition sparkly brooches priced at £9.99.
The poppy emblem was adopted shortly after the First World War, based on the well-known poem In Flanders Fields, by John McCrae. The flowers were seen to bloom on the broken ground of the battlefields of Flanders after the war.

The millions of poppies we wear each year are produced by around 50 people, many of whom are ex-servicemen, from the Legion’s factory in Richmond, South-West London.

How do you wear your poppy? This year has seen a range of brooches go on sale

Since 1933 there has also been a white poppy emblem, used by the Peace Pledge Union. Anti-war activists wear it as an alternative to the traditional red.
Kleshna’s handmade range of poppy jewellery raised more than £5,000 for the Royal British Legion last year.

Strictly Come Dancing performer Kristina Rihanoff, 31, who partnered musician Goldie in this year’s competition, has already ordered one of the poppy bracelets.

Kleshna’s work has featured at London Fashion Week and her customers include Cheryl Cole, Dame Judi Dench, Kylie Minogue, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Victoria Beckham.

Skinny Nadine Coyle insists she does eat as she reveals plans to launch her own cookery show

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Culinary queen: Nadine Coyle has revealed plans to launch her own cookery show
Asked what she thinks when she sees pictures criticising her weight, Nadine replied: 'I do look at pictures of myself sometimes and think, "Oh my God, I look really skinny."

She's caused controversy with her skinny appearance in recent months.

But Nadine Coyle has come forward to insist she does maintain a balanced diet, as well as revealing plans to launch her own cookery show.

The 25-year-old singer posed as a housewife in this week's Heat magazine as she admitted she would love to follow in Delia Smith and Jamie Oliver's footsteps.

'But I do eat, I love Lucky Charms cereal and potatoes, and I'd 'love, love, love to do a cookery show.'

Earlier this year, Nadine insisted: 'I am 100 per cent fit and healthy and I am the right weight for my type of body. I am totally happy with my weight. I’m just doing a lot of running with my trainer back home in LA.

Controversial: Nadine has caused controversy with her tiny figure

'When I get back to Derry I always enjoy a good fry-up that my mum makes. That’s my big weakness. I also eat too much chocolate as well. If I’m honest I’m not a particularly healthy eater.'

The full interview appears in this week's Heat magazine

Nadine, who recently released her debut solo single Insatiable, also spoke to Heat about Girls Aloud bandmates Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, admitting she hasn't spoken to them for 13 months.

Nadine added that while she is finding it 'a lot calmer' being a solo artist, she thinks it is unfair that she has been blamed for the end of Girls Aloud.

She said: 'Nobody has spoken to me about a reunion. Cheryl is doing her music, so it would be near enough impossible for her to do a solo and a Girls Aloud one. But how it’s my fault is beyond me.'

The apparent feud between the girls started to get more serious when Sarah, Kimberley and Nicola all went to watch Cheryl perform her new single Promise This on The X Factor.

But Nadine admitted: 'I didn’t know it was happening. But it’s fine, it really is…'
The full interview with Nadine is in this week's edition of Heat magazine, out now.

X Factor's Mary Byrne considering gastric band operation in desperate bid to lose weight

By SIMON CABLE

Desperate: Mary Byrne's daughter has said the X Factor contestant would consider having a gastric band fitted

She doesn't look like your average pop star.

But X Factor star Mary Byrne is so desperate to lose weight that she is ready to use a gastric band to help her slim down.

The Tesco worker, who has taken the show by storm, is currently competing against stick-thin acts such as Cher Lloyd and has already spoken of her battle to shed three stone.

Asked if her mother would consider having a gastric band fitted, Deborah Byrne, 23, said: 'If the offer was there she could but I think she wants to do it naturally.

'If it came down to the crunch, and she had to, she probably would,' she told New! Magazine.

'She gets down about her weight. She does want to lose weight, obviously for health reasons. But she doesn't complain about it.

But her daughter has now revealed that surgery may be the only option after failing to lose the weight naturally.

She has also admitted that her mother often takes to the stage in pain because she suffers from arthritis in her legs - a condition which is being made worse by her weight.

She has also claims that the pressure of competing in the show means the 50-year-old star is comfort eating and bingeing on junk food and chocolate.

On a mission: Mary has admitted she is keen to lose weight and get fitter

'She only complains because of the effect it has on the arthritis in her legs. That's what gets to her. But, even when she's in pain, she still gives it 100 per cent.'

The star recently admitted she has been taking a cocktail of anti-depressants and blood pressure tablets to battle her weight problems.

In the first week of the programme Mary, from Ballyfermot, Dublin, collapsed in agony during rehearsals because of her arthritis.

'I'm also on blood pressure tablets and I know I have to lose three stone and I'm determined to do it,' she said.

'The arthritis gets really sore at times. During rehearsals on the first week I had to stop and sit down through them.'

The full interview appears in this week's New! magazine

'After my partner walked out on me to bring up my baby alone I sunk into a dark depression.

'I coped with it by comfort eating and it was a vicious circle. The weight went on dramatically and I ended up hating myself.

'I couldn't stand what I saw when I looked in the mirror. It was very tough and my confidence was at an all time low.

'I was in a rut that I couldn't escape. You can't help but feel unwanted when your partner walks out on you. He didn't want to know about my daughter Debbie and that hurt deeply.

'I put on weight when I was pregnant with the baby then got back down to nine stone. But then it started piling on again as I adjusted to life as a single mum. It was lonely at times.

'But I'm on a mission to get fitter and be in good shape by the end of the show. It's the perfect motivation for me to get healthy.

'I've started to eat better food and try to maintain a healthy diet. I've made no secret of the fact that I'm on anti-depressants too to help me cope with the change of life.

'I'm not looking for sympathy though - I want people to vote for me on the X Factor based on my performances, not the sympathy vote.'
