Hand-in-hand: Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart take a winter break in the South of France with their son Alistair who they would like a little brother or sister for
He has just celebrated his 65th birthday. But Rod Stewart isn't ready to pick up his bus pass yet.
Yesterday he was strolling hand-in-hand in the sunshine of the South of France with his model wife Penny Lancaster, who is 27 years his junior.
The singer, sporting a haircut that wouldn't have looked out of place during his 1970s heyday, looked chipper in a rollneck sweater and sunglasses.
Kicking back: A relaxed-looking Rod and Penny were joined by friends in Cannes. Alistair is pictured right
His coat was done up against the winter chill and a flat cap was sticking out of his pocket.
His wife opted for a warm jacket and boots, with a leopard print top.
The pair - who recently said they would like a little brother or sister for their four-year-old son Alistair - have been enjoying a break in Cannes before Stewart prepares for a British tour.

They were joined by friends, including the singer's secretary and her children.
Stewart, who has seven children by five different mothers, has been married three times, first to Alana Hamilton in 1979 but the couple split five years later.
In 1990, he wed model Rachel Hunter but they separated in 1999 and finally divorced in 2006.
He and Miss Lancaster then tied the knot in 2007.
In November, he revealed the couple were trying for another baby.
Stewart said another child would keep is wife happy, and said he had the energy, time and money to add to his brood.
'Penny wants another child and I will more or less do anything to keep her happy,' he said.
'But I would love to have another little one, I feel I've got the energy and I'm mobile and I've got the money and I've got the time to have another child - which wasn't always the case.
'Especially in the early Eighties when Sean and Kimberly were born. I was very much on the road working hard. I didn't get a great deal of time to spend with them when they were Alastair's age.'
'One more and then we're going to close the office.'
