Taking inspiration from Jedward? Katie Price tries a hair-raising new look with a giant quiff

By Sarah Bull

Hair-raising: Katie Price appears to have taken inspiration from Jedward with her new blonde quiff

She's no stranger to trying out different hairstyles, and has experimented with long, short, dark and blonde locks in the past.

But yesterday Katie Price opted for a hair-raising new look as she and boyfriend Leandro Penna headed to London's Cafe De Paris to film for her new TV talent show.

The 33-year-old model appeared to have taken inspiration from The X Factor's John and Edward Grimes, aka Jedward, with her extraordinarily high blonde quiff.

New look: Katie debuted the style as she headed to London's Cafe De Paris to film more scenes for her TV talent show

The 'do was equally as eye-catching from the side and behind, as Katie's long blonde hair had been swept up into a mass of tumbling curls.

Katie teamed her Jedward-style quiff with a plain grey jumper, white shorts and silver UGG boots as she made her way into the venue.

Her Argentinian boyfriend Leandro, meanwhile, wore a pair of distressed jeans, a blue shirt and black jacket.

Inspiration: X Factor duo John and Edward Grimes, aka Jedward, became famous thanks to their massive quiffs and catchy songs

Katie has been spending a lot of time in London in recent weeks working on her modelling-based television programme.

Discovered by Katie Price, which will air on Sky Living this autumn, will see Katie set up Black Sheep Management modelling agency to find a model who ‘will break the mould’.

The show is being filmed for Sky Living and hopes to use Miss Price's knowledge, gained from 15 years in the business, to find exciting new talent.

Fun day out: Katie was accompanied by boyfriend Leandro Penna as she arrived at the venue

According to the website: 'Katie's on the hunt for "the next big thing" to sign to a new talent agency. The winner will get a year long contract, personal mentoring from Katie and loads of other fabulous prizes.'

But it isn't just her TV show which is keeping Katie busy.

On Wednesday, the mother-of-three will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest book signing as she launches her new novel The Comeback Girl at the O2 Academy in Leeds.

Talking about the challenge, Katie said: 'I'm so looking forward to trying to break the Guinness Book of Records title on Wednesday. I'm a bit nervous - who wouldn't be? - but Random House challenged me so I thought, why not, I'll give it a go.

'You know me, I can't resist a challenge. It'll be great fun whatever happens. And I've got an amazing outfit to show everyone. See you there!'

'I'm so grateful my husband Russell Brand is clean and sober,' says Katy Perry in wake of Amy Winehouse's death

By Daily Mail Reporter

Grateful: Katy Perry discussed her husband Russell Brand's sobriety during an interview on Good Morning American today

Pop star Katy Perry says Amy Winehouse's death has made her even more grateful for husband Russell Brand staying sober.

Brand, himself a recovering drug addict, took to Twitter over the weekend to laud his late friend as a 'f***ing genius' following her death in London on Saturday.

And Perry says the death puts into perspective Brand's efforts to stay clean and away from drugs.

'My heart felt really sad,' Perry said on Good Morning America about hearing of Winehouse's death.

'My husband, who has been clean and sober for almost nine years, you know, I see him working a program and working on himself every single day.

'And I see how much work it takes to be clean and sober when you have, you know, addiction on your hands.

'It gave me a real a gratefulness for my husband, who got clean when he was 27.

'I feel really sad and I just hope she finds peace.'

Brand paid a lengthy written tribute to Winehouse yesterday, saying addiction should be treated as a potentially fatal disease.

He met her on the Camden pub scene a number of years ago, and said at first he thought she was 'just some twit in a pink satin jacket shuffling round bars'.

He said when he spoke to her she was 'sweet and peculiar but most of all vulnerable'.

By chance Brand saw her perform with Paul Weller at the Roundhouse in Camden, north London, and had an epiphany.

In the piece posted on his website he wrote: 'Entering the space I saw Amy on stage with Weller and his band; and then the awe. The awe that envelops when witnessing a genius. From her oddly dainty presence that voice, a voice that seemed not to come from her but from somewhere beyond even Billie and Ella, from the font of all greatness.

'That twerp, all eyeliner and lager dithering up Chalk Farm Road under a back-combed barnet, the lips that I'd only seen clenching a fishwife fag and dribbling curses now a portal for this holy sound.'

Brand has given frank accounts of his battle to overcome drug addiction, and said loved ones will always fear getting a phone call with the worst news possible.

On duty: The star is currently in New York promoting her new film, The Smurfs

At the time he met Winehouse, he himself had not yet got clean, and he said: 'Winehouse and I shared an affliction, the disease of addiction.'

In the piece Brand accused the media of being more interested in 'tragedy than talent', and therefore said they focused more on her personal battles than her musical career.

He went on: 'Addiction is a serious disease; it will end with jail, mental institutions or death.

'Now Amy Winehouse is dead, like many others whose unnecessary deaths have been retrospectively romanticised, at 27 years old. Whether this tragedy was preventable or not is now irrelevant. It is not preventable today.

'We have lost a beautiful and talented woman to this disease. Not all addicts have Amy's incredible talent. Or Kurt's (Cobain) or Jimi's (Hendrix) or Janis's (Joplin), some people just get the affliction. All we can do is adapt the way we view this condition, not as a crime or a romantic affectation but as a disease that will kill.'

Eric Cantor Admits That $1 Trillion In War Savings Counted In Both The Ryan Plan And ‘Cut, Cap & Balance’ Plan

From ThinkProgress: Today, Speaker John Boehner rejected Harry Reid’s plan, claiming that it was full of gimmicks. Boehner’s principle criticism was that it counted $1 trillion is savings from winding down the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

In an interview on CNBC, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor admitted to Larry Kudlow that both the Ryan Plan and the “Cut, Cap, and Balance” Plan — which were both supported by nearly the entire GOP caucus — also counted savings from winding down the wars:
Cantor: Speaker Boehner came out months ago and said we are not going to increase the debt ceiling unless we have comensurate or even greater cuts in spending. Now Sen. Reid’s plan doesn’t do that. What Sen. Reid’s plan says is we’re going to raise the debt ceiling $2.4 trillion and we are also going to cut spending but what he does is counts over a trillion dollars in spending that is assumed to decrease and go away anyway which is the spending associated with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kudlow: Yes, but isn’t that in the Paul Ryan baseline also, which is the baseline for Cut, Cap and Balance.

Cantor: But, but, but… absolutely it is. But it's not anything additional...
Please kids. You want to CUT SPENDING. The Reid plan CUTS SPENDING.

The Reid plan gives Repubs everything they want and now they are avoiding it because the real issue they want is to be able to revisit this in the middle of next year's elections.

For months now we've heard that what the global markets need to see is stability and a plan they can count on. The Reid plan does that. The Boehner plan kicks the can down the road about 8-9 months. This does not show stability or a handle on our spending.

This is more posturing by the Repubs who just want to do everything they can, even if it means putting the full faith and credit of the United States at risk, to bring President Obama down.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

Just like mummy... Suri Cruise pushes along her own baby girl during a shopping trip with her mother Katie Holmes

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Let's Play Mother: Suri Cruise pushes her doll along on a shopping trip to the Brentwood Country Mart with Katie Holmes

Suri Cruise had a go at Let's Play Mother this weekend when she trotted along with a baby doll in a pushchair.

The five-year-old visited the Brentwood County Mart with her own mother Katie Holmes and upped the cuteness stakes as she pushed her dolly along.

According to an eyewitness, Suri stopped at various points during her outing to check on the doll and 'make sure it was ok'.

Here we go: The five-year-old was accompanied by own mother Katie Holmes during the day out

The youngster was dressed in a smart polka dot blouse with a floral print skirt and turquoise flats later switching to a pair of flip flops.

Meanwhile her mother Katie, 32, wore a chic summer dress emblazoned with a floral print, a long white cardigan and tan ankle boots.

The two made their way into Brentwood Country Mart, where a variety of specialist boutiques and eateries are based.

Let's go over there: According to a witness Suri was quite the attentive 'mother' stopping every now and then to make sure her doll was ok

Katie Holmes recently appeared on the cover of Vogue Spain in a provocative ensemble that revealed her edgier side.

The actress slipped into a black lace dress by Lanvin, teaming it with a leather cap.
A change to her usual, more sensible approach to fashion.

Singing lessons: According to reports Suri is being trained to sing after being inspired by family friend Willow Smith
